Travel agents from Morocco are giving a visit to the City to arrange the sell of tourist packs
The City Councillor of Tourism of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Pablo Barbero, participated yesterday Thursday the 20th of June at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium and Congress Hall in a meeting organised by the City Council and airline Binter Canarias to ease commercial agreements between tour operators from Morocco and enterprises of the tourist sector of the city, into the promotional campaign “Close to your eyes, close to your heart”.
This Workshop with the Moroccan travel agents has been focused on getting them to know on-site the strengths of this city as an urban destination, and to meet with representatives of the tourist sector to agree holiday packs oriented to the travel market of this Western African country.
The workshop was attended by half a hundred hotels and leisure enterprises which presented their tourist services to the representatives of the Moroccan tour operators, aiming to get the agencies of our neighbour country to offer their clients the Grancanarian capital city as a holiday destination. In this regard, Morocco has a rising demand of high purchasing power tourists who are currently looking for urban destinations where to travel abroad.
Gastronomy and shopping areas
The visit of this group of travel agents continued with a walk along the borough of San Cristóbal, and around the city on the Tourist Bus at 18:00, ending the day in Vegueta so that they could get to know the gastronomy and leisure offer of the “Tapas (titbits) Route” that takes place every Thursday night at the city’s Old Town
A new tour will be done today, Friday 21st of June, around the Port-Canteras zone, its shopping area and a visit to the House of Tourism in Parque Santa Catalina, and the city marina, Marina LPA.
